This is a very basic project with predictable results, but interesting nevertheless. The student built an "erosion box" and a constant flow watering system. Using the same amount of soil for each experiment, the student varied the angle of the erosion box, and weighed the mass of the eroded material after allowing the water to run over the soil for 10 minutes.
The hypothesis was proven correct, but what was interesting was that the amount of erosion grew exponentially as the angle of the erosion box increased! This is a complete science fair project and includes a chart of results as well as a bibliography.
