The student determined how much salt it takes in a cup of water to make an egg float by adding one teaspoon at a time and recording the result. He found out it took just a bit more salt than he thought to make it float! This is a great simple project that doesn't take long to complete, is inexpensive and would be perfect for a young scientist.
